
Strix Insights Founder, Alli Marshall

Alli Marshall is an information visualization specialist who knows how to cut through the chaos of data noise and information overload.
One of Alli’s earliest career decisions was a choice between art and science. Although a career in geology and geophysics followed, unbeknownst to her she was also gaining a strong grounding in artful analysis using data visualization.
Alli moved on to business analysis roles, responsible for global natural gas market forecasts and corporate strategy. She noticed an emerging trend of companies being overwhelmed by data and information, but truly lacking in the relevant intelligence needed to make key strategic decisions.
In 2006, Alli took the leap and founded Strix Insights to help organizations make better decisions faster. Working as a consultant to a range of corporate and government clients, it didn’t take long for Alli to discover the missing link to create value for her clients: collaborative visual decision-making approaches.

Today Alli specializes in illuminating analysis and communication for smart decision making. Full circle back to that first career choice, but this time around art and science coexist for better outcomes.
Alli has been sought out by the Globe & Mail for her expertise. She is an invited speaker to a variety of organizations such as the Canadian Marketing Research and Intelligence Association, Calgary Arts Development Authority, Calgary Technologies Inc., and a regular guest lecturer to business schools at the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University and University of Lethbridge.
